Square is looking for a strategic, creative and results-oriented marketing member to own our Product Marketing effort in Japan. Product Marketing Manager Japan ensures that the right customers are getting the right message, through the right channels at the right time. You will be responsible for developing Go-to-Market strategy for Square products and executing it to build Square Brand and to increase product awareness/usage in the market.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for understanding our sellers and representing their voice in product discussions, exceptional understanding of product strategy and positioning, and a track record of cross-functional coordination to launch and scale products.
They should also possess a breadth of functional experience in product marketing (ATL, TTL and BTL) and strong execution capability.
Define the strategy, road map and success metrics for related products and experiences, ensuring product market fit and long-term life-cycle management
Lead, develop, and execute go to market and growth marketing plans
Coordinate with engineers and stakeholders in headquarter to deliver product to JP market
Collaborate with Marketing channels, PR, analytics, sales and support to develop marketing materials and execute plan.
Be the trusted voice of sellers by surfacing qualitative and quantitative insights to shape the product direction and marketing messaging
Identify target customers, their needs, and how products will meet those needs
BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience
10+ years of business strategy and marketing experience. 5+ years in a product marketing role defining and executing the go-to-market strategy would be plus
Experience in communicating with senior executives and internal stakeholders, and influencing cross-functional team
Strong quantitative analytical ability and excellent written and verbal communication skills both in Japanese and English
Comfort in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, start-up environment
Genuine interest in and curiosity about Technology, Small Business and Finance
