Square is looking for a highly motivated, strategic, data-driven, and experienced Web Strategist to join our growing UK marketing team. As an expert in this area, you will own the UK website experience and work with business stakeholders, creatives, SEO, and developers to create compelling, effective, and innovative online experiences that result in remarkable, impactful experiences for our sellers.
You will be responsible for managing, understanding, and driving success metrics (conversion, revenue, task completion, customer satisfaction, and others) for the most impactful areas of square.com/uk.
Youll do this through a data-driven process (quantitative and qualitative) of experimentation, building and executing a road map of hypothesis-driven tests to improve the overall website experience for all visitors. This role is a chance to to be resourceful, creative, data-driven and to both own ideation and execution.
Own the overall UK website experience and drive ongoing tests and improvements to the customer experience with an eye towards performance and conversion, while remaining true to Squares brand
Build and execute against a roadmap of testing and optimisation experiments
Consistently communicate the results and implications of ongoing redesign / test results to a wide audience, including senior stakeholders
Be comfortable using content management systems and customer experience optimisation software
Understand basic technical requirements and assist with quality assurance, ensuring consistency of customer experience
Work alongside Insights to lead customer-based research requirements as needed
Manage agencies and/or external resource as necessary for larger-scale redesigns or rebuilds
Partner with the wider marketing team on creative and copy to ensure brand consistency across all channels
Stay aligned with US web strategy team on global testing best practices and leverage learnings where applicable
Drive long-term Web strategy by balancing data, technology, design, and customer needs
Our Web Strategist will be a self-starter with deep analytical and strategic capabilities, and demonstrate an ability to work collaboratively. They will possess strong intellectual curiosity, and a passion for achieving practical business impact. Successful candidates will have exceptional interpersonal skills, initiative, and integrity.
A BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience
4+ years' experience in relevant marketing, site merchandising or product management experience with a deep understanding of web standards and optimisation
Proven capabilities in identifying target audiences and driving website experiences that engage, inform, and motivate as well as optimising websites, landing pages, and the overall user funnel
Experience with managing budgets, reporting on performance, and presenting to senior leaders
Strong analytical skills and data-driven thinking
Working knowledge of front-end and back-end web development and the design limitations and capabilities of both
The ability to work within tight deadlines, adjust to changes in priorities and balance short term needs with long term strategic initiatives
Excellent writing and communication skills and a keen visual sense
