We’re looking for a senior visual designer to join the Square Ecommerce Site Design team. This role requires a combination of creative direction, design development, and technical skills, as well as a systematic approach to design. The designer we are looking for has a strong portfolio that demonstrates expertise in creating elegant ecommerce website designs. They are responsible for imagining and producing high-quality, forward-looking templates and layouts, while maintaining strict design standards that adhere to our builder experience and functionality. This role will collaborate closely with our Product and Marketing Design teams.

You will:

• Produce a range of visual assets, including section layouts and site templates, animation elements, section layout guidelines, asset and interaction/motion libraries, etc.

• Develop final files from concepts and ensure efficient file handoffs

• Proactively work to make our creative execution process as efficient as possible

• Contribute to a culture of design systems and design quality

You have:

• 5+ years experience in visual design

• 2+ years experience in creative direction

• Portfolio that demonstrates expertise across several website creation tools or builders

• Proven ability to deliver quality + effective design at high volumes under tight timelines

• Excellent visual, communication, and documentation skills

• Experience with design applications such as Sketch, Illustrator, Photoshop, Figma

• Fluent in responsive design web standards

• Fluent in design systems, atomic design

• Photo retouching/video editing skills

• Knowledge of motion and Adobe After Effects, etc.
