Job Description

Finance & Strategy is responsible for improving strategic, financial and operational decision-making across the company. We are looking for an experienced finance professional who will work as a member of Square’s Corporate Finance & Strategy team, and who will directly influence key elements of Square’s overall financial forecast, operational execution, and strategic decision making.

 

You will:

  • Apply an analytical approach to enable strategic decision making, with a focus on the investment allocation decisions that will best position Square for long-term growth

  • Partner with organizations across Square to guide financial and strategic planning processes, policies, and the implementation of company-wide initiatives

  • Prepare analysis and play a lead role in communicating business trends, opportunities and risks to board members and Square’s executive team

  • Partner with the Investor Relations and Accounting teams to develop external financial guidance and investor communications

  • Develop metrics to track team-specific and company-wide trends, identify opportunities, clearly communicate recommendations, and collaborate across all levels of the organization

Qualifications

You have:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or other relevant field

  • 2 to 5 years of relevant industry experience with financial modeling, (e.g. financial planning & analysis, investment banking, private equity)

  • Excellent proficiency in Excel (you should be prepared for a case study)

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Exceptional judgement and maturity, including an ability to execute independently and work with team members of all levels

  • Basic understanding of the payments industry and a commitment to Squares purpose of Economic Empowerment

Even better:

  • Experience with Hyperion is a plus

  • Experience with SQL is a plus
