Finance & Strategy is responsible for improving strategic, financial, and operational decision-making across Square. Cash App is Squares consumer financial services platform that makes it easier to transfer money, purchase goods using the Cash Card, receive discounts through Cash Boost, as well as invest in Bitcoin. Cash App has seen tremendous user growth, and along with this growth comes incredible opportunities as a key business partner to the Cash App team.
Caviar is building the world's best food delivery and logistics service. We believe that everyone should have access to the best eateries in their city with ease, and were changing the way businesses and consumers order food from restaurants.
Finance & Strategy team members have an intimate understanding of Squares business. We gain this by leveraging tools like Excel, SQL, and Looker to evaluate customer and financial trends, answer business questions with data-driven insights, and communicate actionable recommendations.
Apply subject matter expertise of Squares business model to 1) create analyses that facilitate clear and timely decision making, 2) forecast performance, including short- and long-term trends, 3) surface strategic insights for business partners, and 4) help inform Squares investment capacity across a range of functions.
Synthesize data from SQL databases and collaborate cross-functionally across Product, Marketing, Accounting, and Business Intelligence (among other teams) to understand complex relationships between key drivers of our business.
Report and analyze business results and communicate key takeaways to senior stakeholders (e.g., company executives and Board members), including identifying opportunities or risks.
Manage product team headcount and operating budget processes to ensure investment allocation and resources are in alignment with Squares strategic priorities.
Bachelors degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or another relevant field
2 to 4 years of experience focused on financial modeling (e.g., investment banking, consulting, corporate finance, buy-side)
Advanced proficiency in Excel (you should be prepared for an Excel modeling interview)
Excellent business acumen and communication skills
Ability to execute independently and engage with team members of all levels
Commitment to Squares purpose of Economic Empowerment
Experience with SQL/comfort working with large data sets and creating data visualizations
Experience with consumer or B2B technology products or the payments industry
