Job Description

Caviar is looking for a Risk Lead to manage our national Risk team, a part of our national Operations organization which includes our Support, Live Operations, and Restaurant Operations teams.

Caviar Risk analyzes emerging fraud threats, develops data-driven insights, and intervenes to prevent damage to Caviars business. The Risk Lead will partner with teams across Caviar to develop operations strategy, processes, and tools which maximize our ability to identify and action on cases of fraud.

You will help the team study emerging fraud trends, improve our detection models, and catch bad actors. We act in real-time, using complex data sets, and expect every decision to be high caliber.

You will lead projects from creation to delivery. There is enormous opportunity to identify new opportunities and develop creative insights from Caviars data. This extends to leadership, where you will collaborate with company-wide partners to reduce Caviars risk profile.

You will:

  • Report to our Live Operations Lead

  • Distill data using SQL to implement analyses that guide applicable insights

  • Communicate analyses with leadership and other partners to guide our decisions

  • Partner with Product, Engineering, and Data Science teams to design solutions to operations problems, guide product roadmaps, and solution new products/processes

  • Perform ad-hoc analysis to identify trends, enhance fraud rules, and improve automation

  • Diagnose problems and develop compelling, data-driven recommendations, and processes with the goal of minimizing loss and creating growth

  • Contribute to ongoing communication with management, analysts, engineers, data scientists, and product teams to meet goals and loss targets

Qualifications

You have:

  • Work experience: 5+ years of analytical work experience, such as management consulting, business operations, or risk management, ideally at a high growth technology company

  • Education: Bachelors degree required with a major in an analytical field (preferred); a masters degree or similar professional degree preferred (or equivalent work experience).

  • The ability to pull and manipulate large datasets using SQL and other tools, recognize complex patterns, and present sound analyses to partners through real-world application.

  • A history of accomplishing your goals. You understand that getting results sometimes means doing unglamorous work. You identify and remove blockers. You can perform autonomously.

  • Experience leading a team: Youve helped others grow, and you know how to support and manage team members.

  • Prioritization: You have a knack for quickly making 80% progress by knowing which 20% to focus on, and can give a 1-day, 1-week, and 1-month answer to how youd solve a problem

  • Communication: You have a proven record of building diverse relationships with junior and senior colleagues. You are trusted to lead presentations to senior leadership.

  • A Growth mindset: You are always looking for ways to improve yourself and the team.

  • Passion: You have a deep love of amazing food and restaurants, and an interest in the on-demand space.
