Square’s Account Management organization works with Square’s largest merchants to grow and retain their businesses and to deliver insights to Square’s product teams. The Partnerships Team is responsible for the end-to-end development and deployment of Square’s Partnership strategy globally. This includes working closely with our product and platform teams to develop strategy, scoping potential partnerships and negotiating contracts, developing relationships with external and internal parties, and executing the deployment and ongoing growth of partnerships across a cross-functional team within Square.
We are looking for an experienced candidate who will work as a member of Squares Finance & Strategy team. This individual will play an integral part in Square's success by working directly with Square's business leaders, driving financial planning and business forecasting, and developing analysis around key business initiatives. This position will be based in our San Francisco or Oakland office and will act as an individual contributor.
You Will:
Act as the Finance Business Partner (FBP) with the Partnerships and Account Management organizations and collaborate across all levels and business functions
Evaluate business performance; report and analyze the performance; identify any risks or opportunities associated with reported financial data
Be your teams go-to partner for business analysis and strategic decisions (e.g pricing & packaging, market sizing, operational efficiency, benchmarking, other data-driven analyses), actively mining data from our databases predict short-term and long-term trends
Regularly partner with business functions (e.g. Accounting, Business Intelligence and Data Analytics, Operations) to analyze and report on the financial impact of decisions across the company
Lead the financial planning process for the Partnerships and Account Management teams; including building/maintaining operating and financial models, managing investment budgets for teams to ensure they have resource allocations to invest properly behind key initiatives
Qualifications
You have:
A Bachelors Degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or other relevant field
5 to 7 years of relevant industry experience
Excellent proficiency in financial modeling and Excel (you should be prepared for a case study)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Consistent track record of success and career progression
Exceptional judgement and maturity, including an ability to execute independently and work with team members of all levels
Experience leading, developing, and growing a team
Familiarity with financial planning processes and business systems such as Hyperion
Experience with SQL and data visualization tools (Looker, Tableau)
