Job Description

The Bureau team at Square is a full-stack creative and technology group that brings Square's ecosystem to life across a variety of channels and media. We're looking for an Analytics Lead to grow our product and business analytics functions across web, SEO, messaging and other in-product surfaces. You will work alongside partners in global marketing, engineering, data science, and product to answer challenging data problems that directly impact the customer experience and Square's growth. You will help build and evangelize a culture of experimentation and self-serve access to data to make better and faster decisions.

You will

  • Lead a team of 6-8 analysts embedded across platforms. You will provide technical guidance, mentorship and leadership as your team works with business partners and other stakeholders. 

  • Help define KPIs and manage frameworks to establish product/channel health, growth and impact to Square across Web, Dashboard, Messaging, SEO and Account Management.

  • Break down nuanced, complex data for stakeholders, while keeping customer and business context in mind.

  • Get your hands dirty, challenge assumptions and pressure-test analyses.

  • Be an expert in customer segmentation, personalization, and targeting methodologies; help drive the Data Science and Engineering roadmaps.

  • Join a community of analytics leads and help further the discipline at Square by establishing best practices and defining career paths.

Qualifications

You have

  • 5-7 years of experience in a data-focused role (e.g. product/business analytics, business operations, data science)

  • A Bachelor's degree or higher, preferably in a quantitative discipline (e.g., Economics, Finance, Physical Sciences) or equivalent experience in an analytics role.

  • Sharp data intuition and attention to detail; an ability to focus on the most essential challenges of a data problem.

  • Demonstrated experience using data analysis and visualization skills (e.g. SQL, R, Tableau, Looker).

  • A track record of delivering on impactful data projects with multiple, often senior, stakeholders.

  • Technical initiative, curiosity and the desire to grow as an individual.
