Retail is an important channel for Square for acquiring new sellers and fulfilling our sellers’ ongoing hardware needs for their businesses. The Retail Partner Manager will drive awareness and acquisition of Square Hardware and Software products through the retail channel (in-store and online). You will be responsible for meeting quarterly sales and revenue goals for Square Hardware products at Japanese retailers such as Bic Camera, Yodobashi, as well as finding opportunities for distribution at new retailers. You will also be responsible for Square Japan’s online eCommerce store where we sell our own products as well as compatible third party accessories directly to sellers.
Establish short and long term strategies and tactics for key retailers to maximize revenue from the retail channel.
Manage relationships with existing retailers and distributors to maintain and grow Square’s retail footprint.
Identify and pitch new retailers to offer Square products.
Partner with Supply/Demand teams on new product launches and weekly forecasting.
Work with Product Marketing and Hardware Analytics to use data and insights to make sound business decisions.
Identify creative/innovative opportunities to drive discovery for Square products in Retail
Negotiate pricing, margins and marketing spend with distributors and retail partners
Support Product Marketing on new product launches - help coordinate marketing, comms, customer-facing team training/materials, customer success changes, and owned asset changes (e.g. public web/shop)
Collaborate cross-functionally with hardware operations to ensure new products are correctly set up and launched in country
Manage Square Japan’s eCommerce platform for direct to consumer sales
Optimize the accessories sold via our eCommerce platform to satisfy sellers needs and create a simple destination for common products to be purchased.
Select hardware from third party accessory/peripheral vendors to sell via our own eCommerce channel. Optimize and improve the channel to increase add on sales to first party products.
4+ years business to business sales, account management or retail marketing experience, preferably with large format retailers.
An assertive, resilient and persuasive personality
An analytical, structured thought process with the ability to assess business opportunities and marketing campaign performance.
Successfully launched products at new and existing retailers
Strong communication skills and the ability to consistently keep colleagues, team members and other key stakeholders aligned
A BA or relevant experience
Ability to travel (up to 15%)

A proven ability to get things done, manage your time and prioritize for impact
