Job Description

Dispatcher & Payroll Administrator

We are looking for a candidate that can work Friday - Monday and one other weekday from 10:30am - 7pm PST. The weekend work would be remote, while weekdays would be in the SF office. The right candidate would be excited about helping a fast-moving organization problem solve on the fly during the week, and also loves to cross their T’s and dot their I’s to ensure we’re processing our payroll perfectly over the weekend.

 

This role is two-fold. During the week, you will be part of our Dispatcher team. You will be the first point of contact for Captains, fielding their calls, concerns and questions and providing prompt, personable solutions for any issues that may arise during the lunch rush, then tracking events and logging issues in the afternoon. Over the weekend, you will help to update the schedule for the week ahead and execute payroll administrative tasks, and possibly help with live dispatch support for our Captains. 

 

We’re looking for a highly detail oriented team player who is comfortable in spreadsheets and loves checking tasks off your to-do list. Your solid organizational skills and sharp attention will be utilized in Captain scheduling activities and well as payroll processing.

 

During the week, you will

  • Prioritize and respond to multiple rapid-fire text messages, Slack messages, phone calls and emails during live support daily

  • Creatively resolve questions, issues and concerns from our employees in the field, restaurant partners and internal account managers in real time

  • Learn and use our various communication channels to interact with Captains and Inventory Hubs

  • Check problem logs and notes left by people in the organization and ensure they are acted upon for the upcoming days of meal service

 

Over the weekend, you will 

  • Leverage Google sheets and excel to prepare and process weekly, multi-state payroll and special payments including bonuses, mileage reimbursements and sick time

  • Help to reassign and reschedule employees when changes are made our upcoming service orders for the next week and reach out to Captains if need be to find replacement and ‘fill holes’ in the schedule

  • Execute clerical tasks based a checklist on a weekly basis to help create the schedule for the week ahead

 

Qualifications

 

You are:

  • Crisp, direct and clear in your verbal and written communication

  • A stickler for details - you don’t like it when things aren’t finished or resolved

  • Able to learn/navigate multiple technology platforms easily (google maps, google sheets, Front, Asana, etc.)

  • Action oriented and calm under pressure - you’re great in an emergency, and know how to de-escalate a situation

  • A master multi-tasker - you’re able to juggle multiple projects at once

  • Proactive - if you don’t know the answer, you’ll find someone who does. You don’t wait to be told how to solve problems

 

Key Job Parameters:

  • This job requires you to work on Friday through Monday with your 5th weekday to be flexible based on what you decide with your manager at the outset. 

  • Weekend work would be done remotely, while weekday work would be in our San Francisco office. 

  • The pay for the position is $27/hour and this is a 6 month contract position.
