Job Description

As the Lead of the Software EPM team for Square Hardware, you will manage a small group of highly skilled and technical EPMs who drive complex program design, development, validation, and certification activities. Note: the Software EPM role within Square Hardware does not include managing software application development such as Point of Sale but does lead system integration efforts.  The Software EPM Lead will utilize a solid Software / Firmware / Consumer Electronics background to understand technical details of cross-functional issues and risks and utilize previous management experience to mentor and unblock the team and to help Square Hardware scale our portfolio and team.

 You Will:

  • Lead a small team (4-10) of highly skilled and technical Software Engineering Program Managers

  • Drive best practices for development and implementation

  • Foster a culture of informed risk-taking and collaborative problem-solving

  • Provide career development and growth opportunities to the team

  • Partner with Leads across Square Hardware disciplines (Product, Hardware Engineering, Software Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, Quality, Infrastructure) etc to improve the Square Hardware development process

  • Build relationships outside of Square Hardware (ex Finance partner, certification partners, external labs, etc)


You Have:

  • BS degree, MS desired.

  • 10+ years of industry experience.

  • 10+ years of project management experience.

  • 3+ years of team leadership experience

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Experience with portable consumer electronics devices including manufacturing test interface

  • Strong technical background

  • Ability to travel internationally
