Job Description

Squareup.com is Square’s public facing brand building and seller acquisition platform, and one of our most important assets. This dedicated team works diligently to tell a cohesive story across the website so that visitors are routed to the content that’s right for them. Squareup.com is the first step for future customers to understand Square’s full ecosystem of products and how it can help start, manage and grow their businesses.

We’re looking for a product-minded and experienced Engineering Manager to lead the engineering team responsible for serving our customer base. Working cross-functionally with your partners, you’ll help us set and accomplish our public web goals to achieve business objectives. Sound like you? Read on.

You will:

  • Evolve Square’s public facing website to better serve our customers

  • Partner closely with product managers, designers, engineers, business leads and other team members to establish your team’s vision and roadmap by thoroughly understanding your customers’ needs

  • Build an outstanding team by hiring remarkable talent, coaching engineers, fostering engineering decision-making, and applying your technical expertise to hold your team to high engineering standards

  • Participate in essential technical, design, and product discussions with leaders across the company

Qualifications

You have:

  • Relevant BA/BS degree or equivalent industry experience (5+ years preferred).

  • 2+ years experience directly managing engineers (including feedback, performance, hiring, career guidance)

  • Experience collaborating with other engineering leaders and partners across diverse teams

  • A background in software engineering and the ability to provide technical mentorship and guidance to your team.
