Job Description

The API Frameworks team helps make all endpoints at Square part of a cohesive public API. We partner with internal product engineering at Square to provide great infrastructure, tooling and best practices which allows them to build great APIs for our external developers. These developers rely on our APIs to build apps for our sellers to power their businesses.

We are looking for an experienced backend engineer to build remarkable solutions to reduce the time it takes for a team to ship a public API.

You will:

  • Design and review code and architectural proposals

  • Build server-side frameworks, infrastructure, and tooling that will be utilized by many teams across the company

  • Collaborate with teams to design and ship APIs

  • Teach and learn from a team of talented developers

Qualifications

You have:

  • 5+ years of experience designing and implementing APIs, and operating complex systems

  • Excellent interpersonal skills that enable effective communication and collaboration with a variety of stakeholders
