Caviar delivers delicious food to diners, with exceptional service and an effortless experience. The Caviar for Companies team delivers this experience to companies, to office managers, and hungry people at work. Our main products are catering and group ordering. We are a small team but we have a large impact on Caviar’s business. We serve the best possible menus from local restaurants to offices of 20 to 800+ employees.
To continue supporting our growth, we are looking for an entry-level Catering Menu Specialist to adeptly use their strong computational skills to review, plan and adjust our client menus. We are looking for someone who can quickly adapt to a changing environment and use strong judgement to plan the best possible meals for an office setting. The Catering Menu Specialist is a strong independent worker, loves the support of learning from a dynamic, growing team, and is very comfortable with data entry and computational work.
As a Catering Menu Specialist, you will be responsible for reviewing menus to serve the variety, portioning, and dietary needs of our corporate clients while maintaining a profitable margin. You'll focus on balancing general guidelines with the unique, specific needs of each client. You will also assist the live Support team to curate urgent, last minute menus. This role requires a high level of focus as well as knowledge of common allergens and menu planning to satisfy employees with diverse preferences. This role is based in San Francisco.
Review client menus and ensure adequate variety is met across weekly menus regarding cuisine-type, client-specific preferences, and individual dish types
Ensure client allergen and dietary restrictions are met, planning alternative dishes or restaurants when needed
Ensure adequate portioning of dishes
Assist in updating backend data
Respond quickly to menu change requests and last minute orders
Extreme attention to detail
The ability to focus and prioritize across multiple tasks
Strong interest in food and nutrition with knowledge of common allergens
Ability to learn quickly and adapt in a fast-paced environment
Strong analytical skills, preferred
