Product Marketing Manager - Square Hardware
- Toronto, Canada
We believe everyone should be able to participate and thrive in the economy. So we’re building tools that make commerce easier and more accessible to all. We started with a little white credit card reader but haven’t stopped there. Our new readers help our sellers accept credit and debit cards across all modes of payment including chip cards and contactless payments; our POS software makes selling easy and our ecosystem of other products like Capital, Marketing, Payroll, Loyalty and Online Store help make being an independent business easy.
Our hardware portfolio has grown significantly since our first little white reader to include Square Contactless and Chip Reader, Square Stand, and two all-in-one products: Square Register and Square Terminal. On our hardware team we aim to build emotion evoking, highly usable products that help our customers start, run and grow their business.
Join our high energy team of leading product design, technical engineering, operations and marketing individuals from leading consumer hardware companies like Apple, HP, Fitbit and Intel.
The role of the Hardware Product Marketing Manager is to be the in-market hardware expert, partnering closely with both product marketing and product management. This includes understanding how sellers use our existing hardware in-market, tracking market conditions impacting product sales and usage, understanding customer segments and defining messaging, setting up and running product betas for new products, gathering product insights, and helping to feed those insights back to the central hardware team for incorporation into future product development. It is the Hardware Product Marketing Manager’s job to ensure products have been tested thoroughly in-market before launch, that the right customers are getting the right message through the right channels, and that we are building and supporting the right products for our customers.
This role will be based in Canada and will primarily cover Canada, but will support hardware product marketing in other markets as necessary as we staff the team across markets. It will work across our full existing hardware portfolio and future products launched in Canada and potentially other markets. It will also work closely with a cross functional team of product management, hardware and software engineering, marketing, creative, sales/account management, customer success, supply/demand and logistics.
We are looking for a highly motivated, top performer to join the team. The right candidate will be data-driven, strategic, analytical, results-oriented and a clear communicator with a background in product management or product marketing and/or strategy, ideally with consumer electronics experience.
