Job Description

On-demand food delivery presents an incredibly difficult operations challenge. It requires constantly balancing the needs our three-sided marketplace: diners, restaurants, and couriers. Our Operations & Support team ensures that we find and maintain this balance every single day, every hour of the day, for every order across the country. This team is responsible for both setting the strategy and executing against it to deliver results and financial performance. Given constantly shifting market dynamics, there is never a shortage of tough and exciting problems to solve!

The Operations Strategy Manager will be the right-hand person for the Operations & Support (O&S) Lead. The O&S Lead is accountable for Caviar logistics nationwide: Market Management, Courier Management, Fraud, and Support. The Operations Strategy Manager will support this Lead with a mix of strategic & operational problem-solving, project management, business analytics, KPI reporting, running pilots, and other ad hoc projects. We are looking for an experienced professional with a strong track record using data-driven analysis to improve processes and drive results. The ideal candidate feels a deep sense of ownership over results (not just recommendations), has a keen nose for value in analyzing improvement opportunities, and works collaboratively across teams. Creating impact will require sharp communications and the ability to influence without direct authority. This is a new role and you will have the opportunity to shape it and identify high-impact projects to pursue. This is an individual contributor role but there will be many opportunities to lead task forces and to create a fast-moving career path.





  • Work experience: 3+ years of related work experience, ideally in management consulting. Experience in an operational role at a high-growth company is a plus.

  • Education: Bachelor's degree required with a major in an analytical field preferred


  • Deep strategic problem solving skills: You love to break down ambiguous problems and translate them into specific recommendations and execution plans.

  • Expertise in data analytics: You enjoy getting your hands on a gnarly data set and applying Sheets / Excel / SQL wizardry to find the insights.

  • Communication: You have excellent verbal and written communication skills. You are equally comfortable giving a 1-minute elevator pitch as diving deep into an hour long presentation.

  • Experience managing partners and stakeholders: You know how to drive results with other teams. You easily identify what the implications of your work are on other teams, and collaborate with them to both drive accountability and manage the relationship.


  • Gets things done: You thrive on rolling up your sleeves and diving in. You understand that getting results sometimes means doing unglamorous work. You identify and remove blockers. You have the judgment to execute autonomously.

  • Context switching: you are comfortable running with multiple projects at the same time and prioritizing your time based on impact and urgency; you are comfortable pivoting

  • Prioritization: You have a knack for 80/20 and can provide a 1-hour, 1-day, or 1-week answer to any problem. Time constraints excite you because it enables you to focus only on the most important things.

  • Growth mindset: You are always looking for ways to improve yourself and the company.

  • Passion: You have a deep love of amazing food and restaurants, helping small businesses, and/or a strong interest in the on-demand space.
