Square is seeking an experienced Online Marketing Manager to drive strategy and implementation of a unified and comprehensive SEO and Content strategy.
In this cross-functional role, you will be responsible for sourcing and drafting impactful partner case studies, articles, blog content, and marketing collateral, as well as working with Sales, Product, Brand and Engineering to ensure that our website matches key customer requests and use cases.
You will work closely with the Brand team to develop this content and with the Engineering team to ensure that our site is optimized for conversions. Key Responsibilities / Performance Requirements
Help refine our SEO strategy to increase keyword ranking (both # of keywords ranked and the ranking of existing keywords)
Drive content strategy for Square’s product and brand webpages
Define a campaign strategy and deliverables plan that meets or exceeds expectations including:
Keyword strategies for optimal on-site performance
Detailed content recommendations
Track and evaluate campaign performance analytics, based on KPI targets and baselines
Review rankings data against internal measurements for success
Improve onsite content through scalable large site improvements, content/copy tests as well as day to day ad hoc tasks (product campaigns, improvements on specific landing pages)
Some examples of areas of scope: Content/copy, translations, Metadata management, product names, page filters, etc.
Work with Brand team to scope and create case studies, testimonials, and customer success stories through customer interviews.
6+ years of online marketing experience with end-to-end content marketing execution including conceptualizing, designing, launching and supporting online, interactive and/or multi-channel campaigns.
Ability to learn quickly, prioritize and work under pressure, adapt to a rapidly changing environment and demonstrate a sense of urgency -- while not being overly sensitive, quickly frustrated or easily flustered.
Deep knowledge and practical expertise in SEO optimization.
Possess superior organization, prioritization and time management skills.
Self-directed, amiable and composed under pressure.
Strong self-motivation, with a desire to make an impact.
Functional expert in online content previous experience working on SEO content projects (Meta tags improvements, copy/translation optimization).
Driven, analytical and able to understand the content nuances of SEO (key areas to focus on and priorities).
Understand the general SEO copy guidelines and are able to identify content shortfalls of a website.
Strong strategy and understanding of offsite SEO importance: PR, social and blogs
Solid analytical skills with key performance metrics are a must, with an understanding of Google Analytics, Omniture, Google/Bing Webmaster Tools.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills required. Must have excellent attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills and experience writing for the web.
Technically minded with a working knowledge of HTML.
Copywriting best practice knowledge for on-page and off-page copy.
Should possess a good understanding of A/B testing, website usability and conversion optimization principles
Experience with SQL a huge plus.
E-commerce/online retail experience preferred.
B.S/B.A. degree in a related field
