Job Description

With Square Capital, we have extended over $6 billion in funding to our sellers, helping them manage their cash-flow and making it easy to invest and grow their business. As a Platform Product Manager on Square Capital, you will be responsible for driving technical product projects from launch through execution. You will collaborate closely with the Platform team engineers, data science, and other diverse Capital team members to help expand access to credit by building the platform that forms the backbone of Square Capital products.

You will:

Deliver prioritized platform projects and releases

  • Research/Scope identified opportunities
  • Write and refine requirements (PRDs, one pagers, whatever other form needed to communicate the problem, why and what we want to do to solve it)
  • Collaborate with Eng on build and planning/building all testing plans
  • Monitor roll out and communications to all of Square

Establish and communicate platform product strategy

  • Establish and align a short/medium term vision for large areas of Capital’s platform team based on the Capital strategy
  • Understand and research market alternatives to our platform ecosystem to ensure in our direction or make changes accordingly

Set and communicate platform roadmap & ongoing OKR progress

Qualifications

You have: 

  • Experience: 5 or more years of direct product/ technical product management responsibilities
  • Preference for a technical or financial services background: Engineering, CS, Data Science, Accounting / Ledger systems, or anything similar
  • A collaborative approach: Experience earning trust and accomplishing goals with diverse teams
  • Dive Deep: You enjoy getting deeply into the technical weeds- no fear of the unknown! 
  • Entrepreneurial spirit: You're a self-starter and get things across the finish line
  • Efficiency: Organized and able to ruthlessly prioritize
  • Hustle: You thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Bonus points if you’ve worked at a rapidly growing startup, especially in fin-tech or financial services
