Growth Marketing Analyst, Appointments

  • Full-time

Company Description

When we launched the little white reader, we invented mobile, ubiquitous payments and enabled anyone to start, run, and grow a business. Ten years and billions of transactions later we’re reimagining commerce for businesses of all types and sizes—we’re enabling the independent electrician to send invoices, helping the beauty salon pay its employees, and giving the burgeoning coffee chain capital for a second, third, and fourth location. We’re working to find new and better ways to help businesses succeed on their own terms—and we’re looking for people like you to help shape tomorrow at Square.

Job Description

The Appointments team at Square is focused on creating purpose-built tools for businesses that sell their time (think: hair stylists at salons, trainers at gyms, lawyers, contractors, etc.). On this team, we’re building brand new products on top of Square’s revolutionary payments platform to make the lives of these professionals easier and more productive, and the experience for their customers more modern and seamless. Our small, cross-functional, and collaborative team has already built many foundational features and are now focused on innovating and experimenting, across all platforms, and beyond traditional product lines.

This is the perfect position if you’re interested in becoming a Growth PM or Growth PMM. We’re looking for someone who is analytical, loves data-driven decision making, and wants to learn about what marketing looks like at scale. You’ll work with our world class product team to grow the Appointments product!

The Growth Marketing Analyst at Square is a hybrid of traditional roles in strategy & planning, product marketing, and business intelligence. You'll need to synthesize trends and insights through the vast amount of data captured by Square, and develop actionable strategies that will help grow our Sellers and their engagement with the Appointments products. You'll be expected to collaborate closely with the product team, and deliverables will be in the form of driving execution on your strategic recommendations. The successful candidate will possess a passion for innovative analysis, processes that scale, and the wherewithal to develop findings and recommendations that transcend the numbers.

You will:

  • Identify target customers, their needs, and how products will meet those needs through surveys, interviews, and product usage

  • Collaborate with Product Management, Design and Engineering to analyse and create experiments for growth.

  • Build, forecast, and report on metrics that drive strategy and facilitate decision making for key business initiatives

  • Design and analyze A/B experiments to evaluate the impact of changes we make to the product

  • Effectively communicate your work with team leads and cross-functional stakeholders on a regular basis

  • Build dashboards, reports, and alerting systems for the ongoing analysis and monitoring of marketing campaigns, categories, and channels

You will learn:

  • How to develop product positioning, value propositions, and key messaging to be used in product development and marketing campaigns

Qualifications

You Have

  • Desire to drive product growth and one day become a Growth PM or Growth PMM.

  • 2+ years of analytics experience or equivalent

  • Experience performing data analysis using SQL, and familiarity with a BI tool such as Looker or Tableau (we use Looker)

  • Very strong communication skills: ability to clearly communicate complex results to technical and non-technical audiences in verbal, visual, and written media

  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional projects that depend on the contributions of others in a variety of disciplines

  • B.S in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Physical Sciences, Economics, or a related technical field
