Job Description
The role of the Product Marketing Manager is to be the in-market product expert, partnering closely with both product marketing, product management and central marketing. This includes understanding how sellers use our product in-market, tracking market conditions impacting product performance and usage, understanding customer segments and defining messaging, gathering product insights, and helping to feed those insights back to the central product team for incorporation into future product development. It is the Product Marketing Manager’s job to ensure the right customers are getting the right message through the right channels, and that we are building and supporting the right products for our customers.
We are looking for a highly motivated, top performer to join the team. This role would support both the Payments and Developers teams. The right candidate will be data-driven, strategic, analytical, results-oriented and a clear communicator with a background in product management or product marketing and/or strategy.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for understanding our customers and representing their voice in product discussions, exceptional understanding of product strategy and positioning, and a track record of cross-functional coordination to launch and scale products. They should also possess exceptional analytical and communication skills.
You will:
Identify target customers, their needs, and how the product will meet those needs through surveys, interviews, and product usage
Partner and collaborate with Product Management, Design and Engineering to define the product strategy and feature roadmap
Develop product positioning, value propositions, and key messaging to be used in product development and marketing campaigns
Lead product go-to-market plans, ensuring that all customer-facing teams are on-message and maximizing each channel
Review competitive offerings and drive ongoing differentiation
Be the trusted voice of our customers by developing and surfacing qualitative and quantitative insights to shape the product direction and marketing messaging
Work cross-functionally with SF based Product Marketing Managers, Copy, Design and Legal to develop, deploy and measure growth and retention campaigns (email and in-app tactics), in addition to website content
Work closely with Central Marketing to define and drive product and educational narratives via SEO research and blog content
Support price testing, pricing research, pricing analytics, and eventual recommendations
Gather and share product feedback from Communications, Sales, Central Marketing, and a broad range of cross-functional teams
Provide feedback on products in development from the local market perspective
Offer creative problem solving and analytical reasoning
Qualifications
You have:
Undergraduate and/or postgraduate qualifications
5+ years of experience in business strategy or marketing with 3+ years being responsible for defining and executing go-to-market campaigns
Experience working with large cross functional teams across multiple locations.
The ability to work well with others, build trust within a team, and work effectively in a highly collaborative and global team environment
Strong organisational skills and can manage multiple projects (and associated stakeholders) simultaneously
Strong quantitative analytical ability and excellent written and oral communication skills
Genuine interest and curiosity in helping small businesses succeed
Prior experience in consulting or a strategy-related role
Comfort leading initiatives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, start-up environment
Nice to have:
Experience in B2B, B2C and e-Commerce preferred
