Job Description

The Account Management team works with the largest Square merchants to grow their business using Square’s powerful ecosystem of products. This team of account managers partners with product and marketing teams to understand the needs of our merchants and map those needs to Square solutions.

As we expand to Toronto, we are looking to hire a Manager for our new Core Accounts Account Management team. You will be responsible for hiring and building a high performing team that leads to success for our sellers and for Square. You will co-develop processes, tools, systems, and metrics to support a team at scale. You will also be responsible for managing high impact projects for the Account Management org. Your team will be focused on selling and supporting primarily US based sellers. 

You Will:

  • Directly manage a team of 6-10 account managers 

  • Create a high performing account management team via hiring, training, and robust ongoing coaching

  • Develop creative ways to motivate your team to exceed targets (revenue outputs, inputs, customer satisfaction, and operational goals)

  • Lead targeted enablement and account manager training. 

  • Manage performance reviews, promotions and career development conversations with your team 

  • Engage with strategic sellers in your team’s book of business through direct partnership with Account Managers. Ensure that we are taking steps to grow their business and provide excellent service

  • Represent Account Management’s needs and goals cross-functionally 

  • Identify the biggest opportunities for improvement and drive execution towards business results

  • Engage with product teams to be the customer voice to drive both product attach and product improvements

  • Work with the Core Accounts Program Manager to set individual AM goals, team OKRs, and refine processes and engagement models to improve results

  • Occasional domestic and international travel may be required. 

Qualifications

You have:

  • 4+ years of experience in a sales role

  • 2-5 years of people management experience in a high volume, transactional environment 

  • Passion for developing people

  • Strong ability to make decisions based on data

  • Experience in a fast paced technology company, start-up experience a plus

  • Excellent interpersonal, leadership, organizational, and communication skills (verbal and written)

  • A hungry, infectious personality: we’re looking for someone determined and able to drive success and motivate people 

  • Related Bachelor’s degree
