Job Description

We are looking for a skilled part-time production bookkeeper to maintain the monthly financial records for our Creative + Studio team. The goals for this role are to normalize and simplify budget management systems, increase budget-owner accountability, and add transparency to the overall process, allowing better collaboration with our internal and external partners

Responsibilities

  • Assess current workflow and propose process improvements; continually refining bookkeeping policies and procedures

  • Normalize budget management and actualization tools 

  • Partner with accounting team to build quarterly actualization reports (collecting PO’s, Invoices, expense reports)

  • Proactively check-in with budget-owners at the beginning of each month to confirm working budget plans

  • Manage budget transfer process, obtaining approvals and coordinating with finance team to confirm completion of transfers

  • Balance subsidiary accounts by reconciling entries against top-line budget

  • Maintain historical records by properly archiving budget documents

  • Anticipating under/over spend and suggesting adjustments to meet goals

Qualifications

Requirements

  • Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting principles

  • Familiarity with the norms of creative agency and/or production expenses, accounting, and bookkeeping

  • Familiarity with the requirements of quarterly budget management

  • Strong data entry skills, with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail

  • Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and proprietary software

  • Effective communication skills, whether face-to-face, over the phone, or via email

Education

  • Accounting degree or certification preferred, but not necessary
