As the engineering manager responsible for Square's corporate networks, you will be responsible for managing a team of up to 8 network and software engineers. Lead a group of solid, self-driven engineers, by hiring exceptional talent, coaching and developing your team, cultivating pragmatic engineering decision-making, and leveraging your technical expertise to constantly raise the bar.
Work through code: Identify and actively engage automation opportunities as to scale the reach of the team in a non-linear way
Work closely with internal stakeholders and take responsibility for the entire connectivity experience of Square employees
Manage external vendors to ensure Square's network is cost efficient and uses industry best practices.
Own the success of your team's projects to deliver quantifiable results in a timely manner.
Be willing to be hands-on and work alongside your team.
3+ years experience in building and managing a team of engineers.
Experience with Corporate environments and networking, including wireless and remote access technologies.
Successful track record of delivering complex projects with tight deadlines and constraints.
Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills; ability to inspire team members.
Self motivation and a proactive attitude with demonstrated creative and critical thinking capabilities.
Ability to demonstrate understanding of software development life cycles and best practices.
