Partner Growth Manager

  • Tokyo, Japan
  • Full-time

Company Description

Square builds common business tools in unconventional ways so more people can start, run, and grow their businesses. When Square started, it was difficult and expensive (or just plain impossible) for some businesses to take credit cards. Square made credit card payments possible for all by turning a mobile phone into a credit card reader. Since then Square has been building an entire business toolkit of both hardware and software products including Square Capital, Square Terminal, Square Payroll, and more. We’re working to find new and better ways to help businesses succeed on their own terms—and we’re looking for people like you to help shape tomorrow at Square.

Job Description

As a Partner Growth Manager, you’ll represent Square’s brand and lead relationships with key strategic partners. You will manage our partnerships, from development to launch and ongoing partner management. You will grow these partnerships, meeting key business metrics via various partner programs, marketing, and new integrations.

This is a critical role on the Partnerships team. The qualified candidate will have a good mix of skills that include an ability to understand a variety of partnerships and their value propositions, strong communication skills to build and deepen partner relationships, an ability to work effectively cross-functionally with both internal and external teams, and a desire to drive significant growth of our business.

You will:

  • Be responsible for all aspects of partner growth: prioritization of business, strategic and financial assessment, structuring and negotiation of new projects, and ongoing partner management

  • Be accountable for success metrics and partner growth

  • Maintain direct relationships with partners, proactively resolving issues and creating value

  • Collaborate with a broad range of internal stakeholders in Product, Engineering, Marketing, Sales and Legal, serving as an advocate for your partners while balancing Square’s goals

  • Operate with little oversight, being both an executor and strategic thinker

  • Lead cross-functional initiatives with internal and external teams

Qualifications

You Have:

  • 5+ years strategic business and/or partnerships experience, preferably with a successful track record of managing business relationships and cross-functional projects

  • 2+ years at an investment or business consulting firm

  • Able to work autonomously with a high degree of motivation to achieve goals

  • Experience building and managing relationships with senior business leaders, both internally and externally

  • Experience working cross-functionally with various teams, managing initiatives at scale and delivering results

  • BA/BS required
