Job Description
At Cash App, researchers work closely with cross-functional partners to build world-class, end-to-end features that solve many of the world’s most important and interesting financial problems for millions of customers.
Our research team is integrated with our design team and is based in Cash App’s gorgeous SoHo office in New York City. This role reports to the Design Research Lead.
In this role, you will:
Uncover meaningful insights that will help drive great design
Design creative research that helps address the team’s needs, including screeners, field guides, and discussion guides
Help execute research, including leading sessions in the field
Help organize and understand customer data by making findings relevant and impactful through different mediums including presentations, videos, internal web content
Collaborate with different people in Design, Product Management, and Engineering to build in research at appropriate times through the product development cycle
Advocate customer needs through storytelling, including writing, visual, and verbal communication that helps other teams build empathy for our customers
Qualifications
Key requirements include:
At least 5+ years industry experience. This might include design research, UX research, market research, applied sciences, journalism, and others
Familiarity with a wide range of qualitative research methodologies such as one-on-one interviews, ethnographic field research, usability testing (lab and remote), heuristic evaluations, card sorting, surveys
Background or experience in design that may include visual communications, product design, illustration, or other related skills
Strong qualitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Experience working in highly collaborative design teams, or other multidisciplinary teams
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
You are a self-starter with the ability to act autonomously
Excited about working in a fast-paced, dynamic startup environment
Even Better:
Previous experience working with consumer finance products
Ability to travel on a semi-regular basis to garner face-time with a semi-distributed team
A curious, hungry, and entrepreneurial spirit
Degree in Human/Computer Interaction or Psychology, Behavioral Sciences or equivalent experience
Filmmaking and editing experience with tools that might include Premiere Pro and Final Cut Pro
Experience working in international and multicultural settings
