Job Description

With Square Capital, we have extended over $6 billion in funding to our sellers, helping them manage their cash flows and invest in and grow their businesses. Even more recently, we launched Paycheck Protection Program loans for sellers using many of our platform's capabilities in a matter of weeks, making 76,000 PPP Loans totaling $820 million.

As a Platform Product Manager on Square Capital, you will own identifying and driving technical product initiatives from creation through execution. You will collaborate closely with the Platform team engineers, data science, operations, and other cross-functional Capital team members to help expand access to credit by building the platform that forms the backbone of Square Capital products. 

You will:

  • Oversee identification through delivery of prioritized platform programs and releases
  • Research and scope identified opportunities / capabilities to help our customers
  • Write and improve requirements (PRDs, one pagers, or any other form needed to communicate the problem, why it matters, and what we want to do to solve it)
  • Work with Engineering on phasing / planning / build / testing / rollout
  • Establish and communicate platform product strategy
  • Establish and align a short/medium term vision for large areas of Capital's platform team based on the Capital strategy - intimately understand our biggest problems and what we unlock by solving them
  • Grasp and research market alternatives to our platform ecosystem's capabilities to ensure in confidence in the direction or make changes accordingly
  • Set and communicate platform roadmap and ongoing progress to achieve Capital's near and long-term goals
  • Participate in ongoing training to maintain current knowledge of BSA/AML and perform BSA/AML duties as required by job function.

Qualifications

You have:

  • You have 5+ years of direct product / technical product management responsibilities
  • You may also have a technical or financial services background: Engineering, CS, Data Science, Collections / Servicing / Ledger systems, or anything similar
  • You enjoy going deep into the technical "weeds" - you have no fear of the unknown! You thrive on solving ambiguous problems
  • You're efficient and able to prioritize
  • You're passionate about Square's mission and new technology
