Job Description

The Sr. Payroll Analyst position, a non-exempt role, is a remote position linked to the Oakland (CA) base office, and reports to the Sr. Global Payroll Manager. You will help administer the daily payroll operations, accuracy of the payroll system data to deliver our semi-monthly and bi-weekly payrolls and servicing employees and ohter teams. You will be an employee resource for payroll matters and will perform other related tasks. 

You will:

 

  • Process the payroll for US and Global employees in a team environment supporting 4,000+ employees 
  • Responsible from start to checks creation for termination or off cycle adj checks requests
  • Manage Payroll tickets and email
  • Prepare 401k and other benefits funding request after each payroll cycle
  • Maintain US employees master file in the payroll system including state and local tax set up
  • Manage incoming US mail and email
  • Process domestic payroll (role could grow to encompass international payroll processing for 2 - 4 countries)
  • Audit payrolls bi-weekly and semi monthly cycle against payroll checklist before submitting to Sr Global Payroll manager for final release of payments
  • Support payroll Accounting Queries
  • Work with multiple teams within the organization like HR, Benefit, Equity and Business Systems
  • Participate in process improvement projects
  • Participate in payroll projects and opportunities as assigned
  • Manage the handling of garnishments upload, unemployment wage claims
  • Provide excellent customer service to our employees and partners
  • Work with internal staff and vendors to ensure HR, Benefits and Payroll changes are processed, accurate funding occurs for all accounts, tax remittance, general ledger balancing , month-end close support is completed
  • Participate in Payroll implementation

Qualifications

You have:

 

  • 5+ years of payroll experience
  • Experience with global payroll with an emphasis on EMEA and APAC a plus
  • Knowledge of wage and hourly laws
  • Proficient in MS Excel including advanced formulas functions (Vlookups, Pivot tables, IF statements)
  • Experience with writing reports
  • Working knowledge with ADP Workforce Now, and Workday 
  • Experience with federal, state, local statutory 
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of payroll and other employee personal information
  • Experience working with remote and distributed teams a plus
