Job Description
You will be the foundational building block to the Risk organizations for Verse Risk Operations and will be focused primarily on Fraud Risk for all Verse products. This position has material cross-functional collaboration requirements within Verse's Compliance Teams and with our third-party banking relationships. You will monitor daily operational management including SLA adherence, workflow efficiency, resource allocation, and all things Fraud and Risk mitigation. Once established, the Risk Operations Lead will build our Risk organization going forward.

FRAUD RELATED TASKS
Become the owner on fraud-related matters
Guide communication and track updates between Verse and departments
Take the lead on cases which may need to be escalated to the police, but do not constitute a SAR (not related to financial crime for example)
Coordinate with Square and external counsel on when to escalate fraud cases
MGM fraud prevention/ MGM fraud recovery experience is preferred
Create a strategy for chargebacks
COMPLIANCE RELATED TASKS
Help with sanctions screening and monitoring
Assist formalize Enhanced Due Diligence procedures for high-risk customers
Guide communication between Growth and Compliance, help track and enforce onboarding procedure for legal entities, including continual tracking and monitoring
Develop risk assessment tool and score for legal persons Work with Ops, Compliance, Growth to ensure PSD2-SCA compliance
Qualifications
BA/BS degree or related experience
6+ years of work experience with 3+ years of direct people management experience required
Past product or project management experience
Experience building and scaling Customer Ops Teams
The ability to effectively influence and communicate cross-functionally
Creative problem-solving abilities
Natural curiosity to dig deep to understand customer behavior
Strong analytical skills
Passion for assessing risk
