The role of the Product Marketing Manager is to define and execute go-to-market strategy based on a comprehensive understanding of the customer; to ensure that cross-functional partners (Product, Marketing, Comms, and customer-facing teams) share that understanding; and that product/business decisions fully incorporate our customer insights.
The ideal candidate is data-driven, strategic, analytical, well-organized and a clear written and oral communicator.
Role Location:
We want employees to be able to reside where they feel most creative and productive. Our Product Marketing Management team works across multiple time zones including Pacific Time, British Time, and Australia Time.
This role is based in the United States and is open to all U.S-based individuals who can be effective partners with this team, including sharing and adjusting to typical working hours in Pacific Time.
Qualifications
You will:
Define go-to-market strategy for one of Square’s most important hardware products using research-driven customer segmentation, preferences, and competitive landscape; including messaging and positioning, channel marketing, distribution, pricing, and merchandising.
Lead product launch team consisting of a diverse set of partners across Square to ensure a smooth and successful launch.
Partner with Product Management to identify future product opportunities and define a product roadmap incorporating customer insights and feedback from Comms, Sales, Acquisition, etc.
Identify levers to drive hardware sales growth, especially to newly activating sellers.
Develop quarterly marketing plans to drive hardware sales, and partner with channel teams to test and optimize return on marketing investment.
Conduct quantitative and qualitative research to understand the customer segments for your product, package these insights in a compelling way, and share with Product, Marketing, and customer-facing teams.
Be accountable for sales performance and product demand forecasts across countries and channels
Review competitive offerings and drive ongoing differentiation
Be a strong leader and product champion throughout the organization
You have:
6+ years of professional experience
Masters in Business Administration (MBA) or 2 additional years of relevant experience
Strong quantitative analytical ability and familiarity with marketing analytics and A/B testing
3+ years working in management consulting or product marketing/management, with exposure to consumer or B2B technology or financial services a plus.
Previous background in B2B or B2C marketing preferred, ideally with exposure to small and medium businesses
Demonstrated capacity to communicate complex, large-scale concepts clearly and simply
Comfort leading initiatives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
