We are looking for a Product Designer to join the Square Ecommerce team and work on Square Online. This position will require visual and UX skills for both web and mobile platforms, with an opportunity to drive impact for millions of small businesses around the world. Ecommerce is an essential part of Square's ecosystem, and you will work on challenges a business owner might face while getting started, setting up, launching, and managing all aspects of selling online.

We believe in generalists at Square, and our Product Designers are expected to deliver high-quality UX and visual design. Daily responsibilities include: creating pixel perfect screens for complex product flows on web and mobile platforms, collaborating with other designers, reviewing built work with engineers and presenting work in design critiques and leadership reviews. This is a cross-functional role where you will work with other designers, product editors, analysts and engineers.

You will:

Create concepts and present them to your team to determine direction
Work with other designers, receiving and providing feedback, and find ways to improve your work
Build detailed product flows, including error states and edge cases
Use data, research and customer insights in your work
Determine your point of view of what success means for a given initiative
Take on complicated projects and seek the information you need to move forward

Qualifications

You have:

At least (2–4) years of professional design experience, including internships
A portfolio that shows both visual and UX work you are directly responsible for that made it through to completion
Experience speaking to the goals of the work as well as successes and failures
Experience working on both web and mobile products

Even better:

You can work with your cross-functional team to determine goals and success of individual projects
You can present your work to your product team and design peers
You know when to compromise without sacrificing user experience or design principles
You can produce pixel perfect designs by utilizing defined systems and frameworks
You participate in research initiatives and brainstorms to gather input to improve your design work
You seek feedback from other designers to help improve your work and grow your skills
