We are looking for a Design Director to lead design across the Payments Product team, which includes: Terminal & Help Products. Payments Product powers the core money that enables sellers in getting paid - while protecting them in doing so.  

Payments Product finds the best ways to move money across different networks and countries in a way that is simple, and remarkable. You and your team will drive the product and marketing designs for some of our most at scale products.. 

You will report directly to the Head of Design for Financial Services, and partner with your cross-functional peers to inform the roadmap, and drive increased cohesion of the respective pieces. You will lead a team of 4+ product designers and writers. You will provide guidance of their output, facilitating cross-functional partnerships and the design process. You will promote an outstanding design practice, influence product strategy, and ensure product execution. As a Design Director, you'll provide mentorship and champion the craft and career development of your team, while creating a safe haven so designers can accomplish their best work.


You have:

  • 12+ years of relevant design experience in digital product, 4+ years in people management

  • Experience managing product designers and marketing designers, and the ability to build, mentor, and motivate teams

  • A diverse portfolio of work personally designed and shipped, along with examples of work directed and delivered by your team

  • Experience synthesizing company-level goals to help teams across multiple products create remarkable design experiences

Even better:

  • Lead a team of 6+ creatives, providing direction, pushing the quality of the work, and inspiring a strong design culture

  • Influence the overarching strategy for Payments Product, in collaboration with engineering and product management leadership

  • Build relationships with cross-functional team members from Engineering, Product, Marketing, and Data Science and speak to product strategy, design goals, and execution

  • Participate in design discipline-wide conversations and create deliverables on how to improve process, operations, and tools
