Identities curates a high-quality business profile for each seller and synchronizes it across everything that seller does. In a word, we give a centralized identity to each seller.

As a software engineer on the Identities team, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the system and UI for managing these profiles. You will be deeply involved in the technical details of building highly available and reliable services, while also working with product teams to enable Square to rapidly build new capabilities for our merchants and buyers all over the world.

You will:

• Design and develop highly available, clustered services that answer thousands of queries per second.

• Work in an agile environment on a modern tech stack.

• Support millions of Square customers through elegant interfaces on the web, Android, and iOS.

Some major upcoming projects include:

• Building outgoing omni-channel integrations to top e-commerce sites such as Google, Yelp, and Facebook.

• Building incoming omni-channel integrations to provide a seamless onboarding to Square.

• Supporting franchises as an umbrella over multiple individual businesses.

• Supporting larger sellers by providing bulk-edit UIs, implementing import/export facilities, and adding labels to locations.

Qualifications:

• BS Degree in Computer Science or equivalent. Minimum 5 years of industry experience

• Natural curiosity and a desire to explore solutions in a small and focused team

• Experience pursuing side projects, research, or open source projects
