Job Description

Square’s Payment Platform is an open, global financial services platform for developers who serve our merchants. It provides the necessary components to onboard new sellers by managing identity, processing their payments, transfering funds, and providing accounting, reconciliation, and reporting in a secure and compliant way. 

We are looking for a senior front-end engineer to join the Payments Onboarding team. As part of the Payment Platform, Payments Onboarding is responsible for building the foundational components used to collect information Square needs to understand the merchants we do business with, and ensure they are able to take payments in compliance with Square's banking partners and the countries in which we operate. 

You will:

  • Build composable front-end components used to create the onboarding flow that  Sellers use to sign up for Square, all over the globe

  • Oversee the entirety of your features - that includes component design, implementation, automated testing, and roll-out

  • Guide the architecture of our front-end systems to ensure quick and stable feature development

  • Work with other engineers, designers, and product managers to develop excellent product experiences

  • Have the option to be involved in the product development life cycle right from user interviews, design sprints, and problem alignment in close collaboration with designers

  • Hold yourself, and your teammates accountable to the standards of engineering that enables Square to safely move billions of dollars in payments and allow our customers to trust us with their sensitive data

Qualifications

You have:

  • Natural curiosity and desire to build products that merchants depend on

  • Desire to solve hard and engaging engineering problems

  • An understanding of how the web works with experience developing applications

  • 5+ years professional experience

 Technologies we use and teach:

  • JavaScript, ES6, Ember, Sass, and other web-app frameworks

  • Test frameworks (e.g. QUnit, Mocha, Jasmine)
