Job Description

Square’s Account Management organization works with Square’s largest and most strategic merchants to grow and retain their businesses and to deliver insights to product teams. AM Automation builds streamlined tools and machine learning solutions to optimize the efficiency and impact of the Account Management team.

As a SWE on the AM Automation team you will have the opportunity to build out a suite of first party applications that will be leveraged daily by over 100 individuals on the Account Management team. You will interface directly with product, strategy, design, and data engineering to build an optimized end-user experience from the ground up. Our goal is to build performant, first-class, user focused applications to provide the best possible experience for our Account Managers interfacing with our industry and culturally diverse merchants throughout the world! 

As a member of the team you will:

  • Design and build first party applications to optimize and drive revenue impact for the Account Management team. This will involve leveraging existing Machine Learning systems and data platforms to surface outreach recommendations and automate the routing of opportunities

  • Partner directly with product, strategy, design, data engineering, and end users to build the best user experience

  • Architect core data models that unify information from distributed sources

  • Design and build system integrations that connect the applications with cloud services, data warehouses, and 3rd party tools

  • Work closely with data science and data engineering to build bi-directional communications between end users and our backend data warehouses.

Qualifications

You have:

  • Demonstrated excellence in Java and Ruby

  • A desire to drive and be a part of the end-to-end development of user-facing engineering solutions.  

  • Experience with front-end frameworks (javascript, react, design)

  • 3+ years industry experience

  • Eagerness to see your work have direct business impact

  • A self-starter mentality with the ability to work creatively and collaboratively

  • Ability to clearly communicate designs to technical, business, and other cross-discipline audiences

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with Salesforce

  • Familiarity with data science / machine learning

  • Experience developing internal user-facing tooling
