Product Marketing Manager, Point of Sale

  • Full-time
  • Alternate Location: Atlanta, United States

Company Description

Square builds common business tools in unconventional ways so more people can start, run, and grow their businesses. When Square started, it was difficult and expensive (or just plain impossible) for some businesses to take credit cards. Square made credit card payments possible for all by turning a mobile phone into a credit card reader. Since then Square has been building an entire business toolkit of both hardware and software products including Square Capital, Square Terminal, Square Payroll, and more. We’re working to find new and better ways to help businesses succeed on their own terms—and we’re looking for people like you to help shape tomorrow at Square.

Job Description

The Product Marketing Manager represents the customer's voice in product and go-to-market strategy decisions, promoting the growth and usage of products within the Square portfolio. You will ensure that the right audience gets the right message through the right channels. We are looking for a strategic, data-driven marketer to join Square as a Product Marketing Manager with global responsibility over Web Point of Sale, one of Square's growing payment products. Square's Web Point of Sale enables small businesses to accept and record payments on their computer.

We are looking for someone who has experience across the full acquisition funnel and product lifecycle, and who understands product strategy, customer segmentation and marketing execution. Reporting to the PMM Lead, this PMM will help define and drive marketing strategies to grow Web Point of Sale in new and existing markets.

You will:

  • Identify target customers, their needs, and explain how Square Point of Sale will meet those needs through surveys, interviews, and quantitative usage analyses
  • Partner with Product Management, Design and Engineering to determine the product strategy and feature roadmap
  • Be the expert in Square Point of Sale's product positioning, value propositions, and foundational messaging to be used in product development and marketing campaigns
  • Lead a global go-to-market plan, ensuring all customer-facing teams are on-message and maximizing each channel
  • Develop data-driven lifecycle marketing strategies to promote product growth and retention
  • Track marketing program performance and improve through continuous testing
  • Keep a pulse on competitors, helping our teams stay up to speed on the latest industry trends

Qualifications

You have:

  • A BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 6+ years professional experience, with 3+ of those working in product marketing, growth or lifecycle marketing in consumer tech
  • Experience in growth or lifecycle marketing via email, in-product, content marketing, and other owned / earned channels
  • Fluency in paid marketing channel strategy and measurement
  • Genuine interest in and curiosity in helping small businesses succeed
