Job Description

We are looking for a Bitcoin Product Compliance Manager to join Square and support our Cash App Compliance program. Our mission is to make banking and financial services accessible to the underserved and unbanked by designing and implementing an outstanding compliance program to help grow the Cash App business while protecting the broader financial ecosystem and the Company.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the expansion of CashApp’s digital asset product by scoping, defining and communicating product and compliance requirements to scale globally.
  • Manage communication of our cryptocurrency infrastructure, processes, policies, and timelines to cross-functional teams
  • Participate in the review and negotiation of partner contracts to ensure consistency with existing processes and systems, as well as highlight changes needed to integrate for future growth plans
  • Evaluate and establish regulatory compliance requirements for domestic and international cryptocurrency markets
  • Advise Bitcoin Product team on Compliance operational and regulatory requirements across various markets
  • Design innovative go-to market strategy that complies with applicable regulatory obligations for all Bitcoin services, including peer-to-peer payments, POS payments, Card and ACH transactions, as well as on-chain/ off-chain withdrawals and deposits
  • Responsible for determining key data and operational requirements of new cryptocurrency product initiatives, including product controls, UAT and partnering closely with compliance operations team for successful data integration
  • Build a tactical road-map and set goals that align with cryptocurrency product roadmap
  • Design and draft all relevant program documentation, content, and processes
  • Remain up-to-date on cryptocurrency regulatory landscape changes, best practices and developments in the crypto industry
  • Build and strengthen working relationships and scale with the growth of the crypto product team to ensure integration with various business functions, bring Treasury operation awareness and help steer Treasury operations requirements

Qualifications

Must haves: 

  • 3-4 years of experience in cryptocurrency and blockchain technology management
  • 5 -6 years of broad (AML and/or Sanction) regulatory compliance knowledge
  • 1-3 years project management experience and working with cross-functional teams
  • Global cryptocurrency compliance regulatory knowledge
  • Legal background and experience in global cryptocurrency laws a plus

Preferred Qualification:

  • Knowledge and direct experience with various global payment networks, services and cryptocurrencies

  • Project management experience

  • Entrepreneurial spirit, hands-on, results-oriented and self-motivated

  • Analytical skills, flexibility, and creativity

  • Ability to draft policies and procedures
