Job Description

The Business Operations role will be responsible for the analytics, strategy and process improvements to scale the Payroll business. You will evaluate our operations, develop data-driven insights and program manage high impact cross-team projects. You will support the General Manager and functional leads with helping Square Payroll maintain remarkable efficiency and quality as we grow.

We are looking for an experienced operations or consulting professional who can also play a generalist role on our team, taking responsibility across all operational components of our business. You have a keen attention to detail, strong critical thinking and analytical skills and know how to grow operations teams efficiently using automation and process improvements.

You will:

  • Develop the dashboards, reporting frameworks and top metrics that help us make better decisions and improve the efficiency and accuracy of our operations
  • Identify and lead projects to improve the efficiency and quality of our operations through automation, enhancing our internal tools and process improvements. Work across diverse functions including operations, customer success, risk, sales, product, design and engineering to drive results.
  • Oversee documentation for operational processes, deeply understanding the business objective, process, tools, data, exceptions and opportunities for improvement.

Qualifications

You have:

  • 5+ years of analytical experience in business operations, analytics or consulting or a Masters degree in a related discipline and at least 2 years of experience
  • Mastery of data, analytics and visualization technologies: Looker or equivalent, Snowflake SQL or equivalent
  • Background in Product Management, Operations or consulting at a tech company
  • Critical thinking, strong decision making abilities & attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Passion for operational excellence and building tools and processes that deliver a high quality experience for our customers
  • Able to quickly become an expert in complex topics like payroll, risk and operations
  • Natural curiosity to understand and resolve complex problems involving large amounts of data
  • Experience coordinating tasks across multiple teams
