Mobile Engineering Manager, Orders - Checkout

We're looking for an Engineering Manager to lead the Checkout team. Square merchants, buyers, and multiple internal product teams all rely on the Checkout product daily, making this team essential to the success of Square. As the manager, you'll be the leader and main contact for the team and product. You will report to the overall Engineering Manager for Orders Experiences, part of the Orders team.
The Checkout team owns the shared mobile checkout experience shipped within our several Point of Sale mobile solutions and is one of the most essential elements of Orders. If you've ever purchased a product in person at a business that uses Square, you've interacted with the Checkout! Our product touches nearly every transaction processed. We're focused on delivering a best-in-class Checkout experience to our Sellers and their customers while also building powerful mobile APIs to support specialized experiences and features. We work with different partner teams from across the company and are the drivers for many top priority features that push the Square ecosystem forward.
The Orders team owns the platform that powers all sales and order management at Square. The team is also responsible for the order management, fulfillment and checkout experiences on Square's mobile and web point of sale solutions. Orders is central to Square’s product strategy and vision of the future, and the opportunity for impact is massive!
Work with Design, Product Management, senior leadership, various product and platform partner teams across Square, and your direct peer teams to develop a strategy and accomplish it.
Build an outstanding team by coaching engineers, empowering engineers through delegation, and applying your technical expertise to hold your team to the highest engineering standards.
Work with the team Tech Lead to influence and jointly guide technical strategy.
Play a leadership role in shaping the future of Square's Checkout globally across all markets.
4+ years software development experience
2+ years engineering management experience, ideally including experience managing a team of 6+ engineers.
Mobile development experience (iOS or Android) OR previous experience managing a mobile team
Passion for all things mobile, from lower-level architecture to the product experience and UI.
