Job Description

The Product Compliance team works across Square to support the launch and growth of Square products globally. Square is looking for a Product Compliance Manager to support Square Capital, our commercial and consumer lending programs, by implementing creative risk-based solutions in areas related to regulatory, network, and partnership compliance. You will report to a Compliance Lead. Your goal is to ensure that the business is compliant with applicable laws, regulations, regulatory requirements and company policies and procedures, including those related to BSA/OFAC compliance, Privacy rules, Fair Lending requirements, CAN-SPAM, UDAP, and FCRA.

You will:

  • Direct components of company initiatives by working with internal partners (Product, Capital Operations, and Legal) to problem solve and ensure compliance requirements are met.
  • Maintain knowledge of lending compliance laws and regulations and identify new compliance risks including laws affecting consumer and small business credit products
  • Explain complex and nuanced compliance requirements into understandable concepts for all relevant partners
  • Oversee the end-to-end implementation of each initiative by creating and documenting progress against roadmaps and project plans, including assisting with internal policies, designing operational program aspects, and participating in audits
  • Organize comprehensive solutions by maintaining an understanding of business systems and processes, both technical and operational

Qualifications

You have:

  • 5+ years of experience in consumer or commercial lending
  • Product compliance experience - familiarity with legal and regulatory concepts and convert them into relevant, practical business requirements
  • Experience working with multiple internal teams, business leads, financial institution partners, and regulators through collaborative and independent projects
  • Project management skills

  • Relevant certifications such as ACAMS or CRCM
  • Experience with SQL and Looker
