Job Description

As a Fraud Specialist you will lead fraud prevention efforts to ensure that all types of fraud, such as Payment Fraud or Marketing Fraud, are within acceptable limits while still allowing us to grow and meet our strategic objectives. You will be part of the Operations team, but will partner and work with other departments within the organization such as Product, Engineering, Finance and Customer Support.

You will:

  • Be the fraud champion within Verse; take ownership of, manage and evolve the Fraud Management Program

  • Manage fraud detection tools and processes and propose solutions to mitigate fraud

  • Analyze trends to identify and manage potential fraud within an acceptable rate

  • Create and manage rules to analyze fraud patterns

  • Assist with the enhancement of our Machine Learning models to prevent fraud

  • Serve as an escalation point on fraud related issues to our User Happiness team

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in Payment Fraud, Marketing Fraud and Risk Management

  • Ability to conceptualize, develop, and implement process improvements

  • Flexibility to adapt and able to manage multiple assignments while working independently

  • The ability to answer unstructured business questions and work independently to drive projects and analytical tasks to conclusion

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent spreadsheet and word processing experience; 

  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, time-management, and self-starter skills required

  • Up to date with latest fraud trends

  • Active participation in fraud forums and conferences

  • Demonstrable experience querying and manipulating data through SQL 

  • Experience with designing and creating data visualizations (e.g. Tableau, Looker)

  • Experience using statistics to solve complex business problems
