Job Description

The Business team leads commercialization for Cash App’s emerging and scaling business lines. Our ambitious team develops Cash App’s go-to-market strategy for our commercial products, builds effective relationships with the largest players in the finance, tech, and retail industries, and drives critical results across Cash App’s most impactful business lines.  We are looking for an experienced Business Strategy and Operations lead to drive our go-to-market strategy across our commercial portfolio. 

The Business Strategy and Operations Lead will develop strategic recommendations and data-based insights for products and programs critical to Cash App’s growth, customer acquisition, and customer retention. As the first hire focused on Cash App’s commercial strategy and business operations, you’ll report to the head of partnerships and sales, partner closely with our executive leadership team, and work directly with Cash App’s Business and Product teams. Your insights will build the foundation for Cash App’s scaled success as we bring new products to market and scale programs impactful to Cash App’s core business.

You will:

  • Commercialize products: Develop Cash App’s strategy for emerging products by analyzing business opportunities, identifying competitive dynamics, and synthesizing early product performance data. Build business cases, refine product pricing, and develop incentive structures for our new commercial products.

  • Drive product positioning: Leverage customer data to inform product positioning and optimize our scaling partnerships and sales efforts. Lead complex analyses on our commercial products, develop case studies, and design experiments to improve product and partner performance.

  • Set strategic priorities: Conduct analyses that establish the strategic priorities for our Business team and inform product development, partnerships structures, budgeting, sales processes, among others.

  • Build analytical tools: Surface data-based insights through dashboards, automated reporting, and presentations that give both our partners and internal stakeholders information critical to make decisions. Drive improvements to our data analysis infrastructure and processes. 

  • Lead cross-functional initiatives: Collaborate with cross-functional colleagues in Product, Analytics, Data Science, Marketing, Design, and Engineering.

Qualifications

You have:

  • 7+ years of strategy and business operations experience including significant time in a leadership role, preferably in management consulting, payments, or a fast-moving technology company. 

  • A track record of success leveraging data and analysis to drive strategic priorities. You’re comfortable with data analytics tools and languages such as SQL, Tableau, Looker and Excel, and you have experience with data warehousing (e.g.; ETL development, Snowflake schema).

  • Adept problem solving skills. You’re a strategic thinker with a hunger to tackle complicated and impactful business problems and build best-in-class products and partner programs.

  • Business acumen and a strong understanding of product strategy. You excel at identifying business opportunities and navigating commercial challenges. 

  • Strong written and oral communication skills. You’re a killer presenter and strategic thinker who comes armed to internal and external conversations with the right data and analysis to reinforce your argument.

  • Demonstrated cross functional leadership. Proven ability to build relationships with both cross functional teammates and external stakeholders.
