Commercial Paralegal

  • Full-time

Company Description

Square builds common business tools in unconventional ways so more people can start, run, and grow their businesses. When Square started, it was difficult and expensive (or just plain impossible) for some businesses to take credit cards. Square made credit card payments possible for all by turning a mobile phone into a credit card reader. Since then Square has been building an entire business toolkit of both hardware and software products including Square Capital, Square Terminal, Square Payroll, and more. We’re working to find new and better ways to help businesses succeed on their own terms—and we’re looking for people like you to help shape tomorrow at Square.

Job Description

Square is looking for a paralegal. If hired, you will: (1) help provide organizational and substantive support to the attorneys on the Commercial Counsel team who draft, negotiate and manage all commercial agreements for the Seller organization at Square; (2) build new systems and procedures to improve contracts management at Square; (3) work with commercial attorneys, contracts managers, and vendor procurement teams; and (4) will report directly to one of the lead attorneys of the Product and Commercial Counsel teams for the Seller organization. This is a great opportunity to join a growing legal team and work on projects in an exciting, ever-changing product environment. As we continue to grow our Commercial Counsel team, your ideas and contributions to improving our contract management processes and assisting our attorneys and contract managers will make an immediate impact.

You will:

  • Provide administrative support to the Commercial Counsel team and help manage the life-cycle of material commercial contracts
  • Develop systems and processes to help the Commercial Counsel team with contracts management.
  • Manage special projects to assist with contract tracking and reporting
  • Help develop and implement contract templates
  • Work with partners across our internal procurement, compliance, and legal teams
  • Support the Commercial Counsel team by providing general administrative, project and contract management support

Qualifications

You have:

  • At least 2 years of paralegal or project management experience
  • Bachelor of Laws or paralegal certification
  • Experience working with partners across the organization, at all levels
