Job Description

The Cash App Network Operations Team is responsible for building and managing a scalable payments ecosystem for a fast growing mobile payment app with multiple external and internal partners.  You’ll be responsible for driving operational excellence with card issuing financial institutions on behalf of our shared customers. This includes managing multiple card issuer relationships in the Visa and Mastercard networks, driving operational projects, investigating and problem solving, and participating in cross-functional initiatives for Cash - with the goal of ensuring that customers are able to move their funds into Cash App via their debit and credit cards with the highest rates of success possible. Within the team, you will collaborate with other disciplines to further our high standard of performance by executing and communicating operational standards and best practices. 

You will:

  • Develop and manage Cash App’s relationships with issuing banks, focusing on defining and executing a strategy to influence and scale our relationships with such partners and maximize customers’ ability to move money into Cash App via debit and credit cards. 

  • Own all operational elements related to these key relationships, including initiatives that will optimize acceptance, monitor recurring limits set by issuers, and provide a collaborative and respected feedback loop. 

  • Create shared alignment and goals to unlock more creative thinking and approaches. Help us develop first-of-its-kind relationships with key partners that allow Cash App to continue to iterate and explore new ideas.

  • Collaborate with analytics and data science to design and monitor reports that capture deep insights on bank behavior, including both industry standard reporting as well as Cash-specific metrics. Develop anonymized external reporting that highlights issuer performance vs best in class.

  • Keep tabs on changes in the industry and understand how card network rules and regulations will impact our business and card issuers. 

  • Partner with external networks and acquirers to identify gaps, examine opportunities, and make recommendations to balance cost and payment performance. 

  • Partner with data science, product, and engineering to scope and implement improvements to our payment processing operations.


You have:


  • 5+ years of operations and partner management experience within banking and/or fintech.

  • Understanding and experience working with financial institutions at multiple levels. 

  • Exceptional collaborative and troubleshooting/deductive skills including the ability to engage in operational incidents with emerging data to assess impact and drive cross functional collaborative resolution in a timely manner.

  • Strong analytical skills that will allow good reporting and understanding of problems.

  • Exceptional written and verbal presentation skills coupled with the ability to drive consensus.
