Job Description

We are looking for Finance & Strategy Manager, reporting to a Finance & Strategy Lead, to join the finance and strategy team that supports our Account Management and Customer Success Teams. Square's Account Management organization works with Square's largest merchants to grow and retain their businesses and to provide insights to Square's product teams. Square's Customer Success Team is focused on providing outstanding support that's always available—at the right times—but rarely needed. You will play an important part in Square's success by working directly with Square's business leaders, driving financial planning and business forecasting, and developing analysis around important programs.

You Will:

  • Be the Finance Business Partner with the Customer Success and Account Management organizations and collaborate across all levels and departments
  • Evaluate our performance; report the performance; identify any risks or opportunities associated with reported financial data
  • Be your team's go-to partner for business analysis and strategic decisions (e.g pricing and packaging, market sizing, operational efficiency, benchmarking, other data-driven analyses), mining data from our databases predict short-term and long-term trends
  • Partner with departments (e.g. Accounting, Business Intelligence and Data Analytics, Operations) to analyze the financial impact of decisions across the company
  • Lead the financial planning process for the Customer Success and Account Management teams; including building/maintaining operating and financial models, managing investment budgets for teams to ensure they have resource allocations to invest in important projects


You Have:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or other relevant field
  • 5+ years of relevant industry experience
  • Excellent proficiency in financial modeling and Excel (can perform complex functions) (there will be a case study)
  • Experience leading and developing a team
  • Familiarity with financial planning processes and business systems such as Hyperion
  • Experience with SQL is a plus
