Security Technical Program Manager

  • Full-time

Company Description

Square builds common business tools in unconventional ways so more people can start, run, and grow their businesses. When Square started, it was difficult and expensive (or just plain impossible) for some businesses to take credit cards. Square made credit card payments possible for all by turning a mobile phone into a credit card reader. Since then Square has been building an entire business toolkit of both hardware and software products including Square Capital, Square Terminal, Square Payroll, and more. We’re working to find new and better ways to help businesses succeed on their own terms—and we’re looking for people like you to help shape tomorrow at Square.

Job Description

The Security organization is responsible for protecting Square while allowing the company to take principled risks. We are focused on scaling our impact, and a large part of this is building the Program Management Organization (PMO) to support functions and programs for Security. This includes building the processes and frameworks needed for our teams and tools to scale, ensuring teams involved in Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) have the support they need to run smoothly, and managing complex initiatives as needed.

As Square looks to grow both organically and inorganically in 2021, having a structured and organized approach to scaling will be essential to our long-term success. We are looking for a Technical Program Manager to join our Security PMO and help us tackle the challenges ahead.

You will:

  • Manage large scale security programs across Square.

  • Manage multiple complex projects, often with competing timelines and resource needs.

  • Manage diverse relationships with Product, Engineering, Operations, and Analytics teams at Square and at acquired companies, and provide recommendations that help teams understand and achieve their program executables.

  • Build upon existing internal partnerships: define, iterate and enable new projects that minimize security risk across Square.

  • Participate in quarterly and annual planning for the Security PMO.

Qualifications

You have:

  • 8 or more years of program/project management experience.

  • Excellent leadership skills, with demonstrated ability to inspire team members and product partners.

  • Technical background.

  • Experience in setting up project schedules and breaking down engineering work across multiple teams and delivery dates.

Even better:

  • Hands-on experience with Mergers & Acquisitions, preferably as a TPM managing integrations.

  • Experience working in/with a Security team.

  • Experience managing integration activities for a technology company.

  • Experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, Looker, etc).
