Job Description

Square is looking for senior benefits professionals with extensive knowledge in managing and delivering cross-border global benefit programs. The Senior International Benefits Manager will have responsibility for the strategic projects including absence policies globally (vacation, leave of absence, holidays, sick time, accommodations etc.), while also establishing policies for new countries as we continue to expand. They will also provide strategic input on Square’s evolving benefits strategy and manage key ad hoc benefits projects.

Square has over 6,000 employees across the globe (and we’re growing!) and this is a new role reporting to the International Benefits Lead. The position is a great opportunity for someone who thrives in an all hands on deck environment and enjoys interacting with people. You are organized, detail-oriented, know how to navigate ambiguity, love crafting new policies, like to move fast and also know when to be flexible. This is a full time role based in either our Dublin, Ireland office or our London, UK office, however there is the potential to work remotely in either Ireland or in the UK.

Qualifications

You will:

  • Manage absence programs for Square’s international locations across EMEA, APAC, LATAM, and Canada.

  • Evaluate our existing policies and develop recommendations to ensure programs are current, competitive, and in compliance with legal requirements

  • Set up leave and time off policies for new countries as Square grows
    Establish and implement global minimum requirements for our policies
    Support mergers and acquisitions and harmonize absence policies to ensure global consistency 

  • Establish and manage Square’s accommodations process globally

  • Provide consultancy support on absence programs and complex absence queries to Benefits Partners, HR Operations and HRBPs

  • Provide educational resources to employees, HRBPs, and managers including policy guides, self-service resources, and training sessions 

  • Work with HRIS team to automate leave and time off policies on Workday
    Input on the design and implementation of the international benefits strategy at Square and ensure programs are scalable as Square continues to grow

  • Manage key ad hoc projects processes.

  • Proactively partner with and seek input from key partners including HRBPs, Site Leads, Communications, HRIS, Legal, and Payroll to ensure successful execution of programs

  • Stay up to date on current events in applicable countries including legislative and market developments

You have:

  • 8+ years experience in employee benefits or HR ideally in a multinational environment

  • Experience in creating and managing complex people policies

  • Experience in managing large-scale, complex people projects

  • An understanding of global employment laws

  • Proven creativity and resourcefulness in solving problems

  • You thrive and prioritize in a constantly changing environment

  • Analytical and structured thinking, working intelligently to understand the task at hand and relevant context 

  • Strong attention to detail skills

  • Exceptional teamwork and multi-tasking skills

  • A global mindset while also being in tune with local context and best practice
    Experience in a startup environment is a plus

  • A sense of fun!
