Square builds common business tools in unconventional ways so more people can start, run, and grow their businesses. When Square started, it was difficult and expensive (or just plain impossible) for some businesses to take credit cards. Square made credit card payments possible for all by turning a mobile phone into a credit card reader. Since then Square has been building an entire business toolkit of both hardware and software products including Square Capital, Square Terminal, Square Payroll, and more. We’re working to find new and better ways to help businesses succeed on their own terms—and we’re looking for people like you to help shape tomorrow at Square.
The Developer Platform Experience team creates tools and platforms that empower Square’s public developers to adopt and stay on Square’s platform. In addition, the team also enables internal developers to rapidly release new internal and public APIs and features.
As a software engineer on the team, you will own the next generation of the Square platform experience story - design, creation, and maintenance of centralized, highly scalable, and performant libraries and services leveraged by every public API. You will have the opportunity to participate in the community of internal developers who enable the Square Developer Platform and use that knowledge to create new offerings as well as adapt existing ones to meet the needs of our developers.
