Job Description

Seller Risk Products help Square's customers grow their business by empowering them with the tools and services necessary to navigate the financial risks they may face. You will start by focusing on Square Contracts, a new product born out of an idea to help sellers protect themselves against payment disputes. As the Product Manager, you will develop the strategy, set the roadmap, and determine the requirements - in collaboration with design, engineering, analytics/machine learning and operations - to create a customizable solution that supports any formal exchange powered by Square's platform.

You will partner with your peer Product Managers on new product areas and influence the platform strategy to support Square's growing ecosystem. Our team is here to help business owners prevent, win, and manage their disputes with the Disputes Dashboard and Square Contracts today, and our team determines what this looks like in the future. These products directly impact Square's bottom line, and can result in millions of dollars saved for Square and our sellers.

You will:

  • Define the long term vision and product strategy for Square Contracts
  • Run your product like a business: manage the entire product life cycle from ideation to execution
  • Focus the team on the most impactful projects by understanding the jobs to be done, building your roadmap, and defining success metrics
  • Guide your team's quarterly and annual planning process, and report into a Senior Product Manager on the team
  • Understand the needs of Square's customers and create partnerships with teams where Contracts can support

Qualifications

You have:

  • 4+ years of product management or equivalent experience on a software platform or customer-oriented product
  • Experience working with a high-performing team of software engineers, using agile software development practices and experimentation
  • Experience delivering complex projects for both mobile and web applications
  • Metrics-driven and experience working with machine learning partners to create informed strategies
  • Creative and out-of-the box thinker, willing to develop a point of view and seek divergent perspectives

Even better:

  • Experience in payments
  • Familiarity with developer tooling, platforms, APIs or SDKs
  • Experience developing iOS applications
