Senior iOS Software Engineer, Dashboard App

  • Full-time
  • Alternate Location: Toronto, Canada

Company Description

We believe the economy is better when everyone has access. When everyone has room to grow. No one should be left out because the cost is too great or the technology too complex. We started with a little white credit card reader but haven’t stopped there. We’re empowering the independent electrician to send invoices, setting up the favorite food truck with a delivery option, helping the ice cream shop pay its employees, and giving the burgeoning coffee chain capital for a second, third, and fourth location. We’re here to help sellers of all sizes start, run, and grow their business—and helping them grow their business is good business for everyone.

Job Description

Ecosystem Engagement is a team that owns two critical experiences for sellers - the home page of our seller platform on web and the Square Dashboard app: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/square-dashboard-for-pos/id992958748. With these two products, this team hopes to make it easy for sellers to get a bird’s eye view of their business health and also provide valuable suggestions for sellers to grow their businesses.

The team is looking for a lead iOS engineer who would come on as the first developer on the Dashboard iOS app. This would be an opportunity to come in as the first engineer, help set the technical roadmap, have input on product strategy, and play a large role in growing the team.

You will:

  • Be exposed to and impact real business challenges

  • Identify and explore ways to improve application architecture, testing, and build pipeline

  • Continually seek to optimize and improve the seller experience

  • Iterate rapidly on features, tooling, and processes

Qualifications

You’ll need to…

  • Be proficient in Swift and Objective-C for development (we use both)

  • Enjoy working on mobile apps at all levels – from networking up to user interfaces and everything in between

  • Work in a collaborative environment and partner with other cross-disciplinary teams like Android engineers, server engineers, and product managers to achieve optimal results.
