Job Description

You will:

  • Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities which includes analyzing accounts on a vendor level, reviewing and posting journal entries, documenting and performing account reconciliations and resolving issues
  • Coordinate with other departments to resolve royalty accounting matters and inquiries
  • Understand abstracts, legal agreements and other related written documentation to verify that music rights holders' invoices follow contractual terms
  • Support different special projects and process improvement plans
  • Provide ad-hoc support for multiple teams (Accounting, Legal, Licensing, etc.) as well as external music labels and rights holders that require data analysis
  • Evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile and resolve conflicts, deconstruct high-level information into details, and validate deliverables
  • Support external and internal auditors with annual audits and audit requests from music rights holders
  • Other ad hoc royalty projects

Qualifications

You have: 

  • Bachelor's degree with 4+ years' experience in Accounting roles preferably with Public and Private background with exposure to the Music Industry
  • CPA
  • Expert competency with MS excel (can perform complex functions)
  • Strong planning and organizational skills required
  • Strong analytical and problem solving with expert competency with MS Excel
  • Effective at writing and presenting analyses for a variety of partners / users
  • Re-engineer and scale business processes with automation
  • Must be a "hands-on" individual
  • Must be eligible to work in the US
